With the re-opening of the Anderton
boat lift in Spring 2002, a whole
new navigation is open for exploration
from the Anderton base.
A stunning feat of 19th Century engineering,
the lift carries two boats at a time
hydraulically, one up and one down. Cruising

| BLACKWATER
MEADOW SHROPSHIRE |
The
Blackwater Meadow Marina is ideally
situated at the middle of the 46 mile
long Llangollen Canal (now in the top
100 holiday destinations worldwide!) – a
canal experience bettered nowhere with
plenty of historic structures along
your route.The
most spectacular is the Pontcysyllte
Aqueduct built in 1805, which crosses
over the River Dee some 130 feet below. Cruising

Other spectacles include the Cherk
Aqueduct and Chirk Castle – walk
on to the Horseshoe Waterfalls at the
head of the canal at Llangollen or
take a trip on the steam railway. Beautiful
scenery, picture postcard villages
and plenty to do including the 21 locks
and Blackwater Meadow make a centre
for canal holidays difficult to better.

MARINA NORTHAMPTONSHIRE |
Our marina at Gayton
is on the Grand Union canal, near Northampton,
in the heart of the countryside, but
just a few minutes from Junction 15a
of the M1.
This
base is very popular because of its
easy access to the south
East, and the choice of cruising
routes available, including cruising
to Warwick,
Aylesbury or Market harborough.

our closest base to London, and ideal
for continental visitors coming to Harwich
or Dover/Folkestone.

Bath has been designated
a 'World Heritage City' with a history
stretching back to the Roman Baths after
which it is named and that can still
be visited today.
Moorings
are available very close to the city
centre and Bath
is, without doubt, worthy of at

WHARF MARINA LEICESTERSHIRE |
Union Wharf with
its impressively refurbished canal warehouses
and excellent restaurant is a hive of
quality boating activity. Situated in
Market Harborough, Leicestershire.
This pretty and traditional English market
town dates from 1203. Enjoy delicious
food, and fine ales in the town's historic
coaching inns or just potter about the
market and the many fine family owned

is just two hours cruising to the 'Leicester
Line' of the Grand Union Canal from
this beautiful and tastefully restored
terminus of the 'Market Harborough
Arm'. The friendly lock keeper at the
famous Foxton Locks opens the gate
