Start
your river and canal escapade in Alsace, land of
history and gastronomy, either
taking the direction of Strasbourg "European
city" or towards Lutzelbourg, renowned for the
inclined barge lift. Beyond this, you will arrive
on the verdant Lorraine plateau amidst lakes and
forests, at Gondrexange you can join the canal des
Houillères de la Sarre taking you through
the Lorraine Regional Park up to Sarreguemines, renowned
for its porcelain and quite close to the German border.
Cast off the ropes for an exceptional cruise, and
discover France, Germany and Luxembourg along the
waterways, in the 3 weeks of navigation.
From Saverne, you will take the Canal of the Marne
to the Rhine up to Nancy, a historic city, then the
Moselle via Metz perched above the valley, before
joining Thionville. You are in the heart of the Lorraine
and its regional park which extends on both sides
of the river, like a real mosaic of lakes and forests.
You will cross the border and will continue your "European" cruise,
on the Moselle, which is the natural boundary between
the Luxembourg and Germany.
Your
cruise will go on in Germany via the city of Trier
then Saarbrücken on the Saar, before coming back
to the French-German border which returns you to Sarreguemines
and its famous earthenwares. Discover the lakes of
Mittersheim (water sports) and Gondrexange (fishing)
before to returning to your departure point in Saverne,
via the famous boat lift in Lützelbourg
