There are several remarkable structures to be seen, including the great 549 metre long aqueduct at Agen with its 23 arches. You can now once again cruise to Montauban. At Moissac don't miss the 11 th century abbey, a treasure of medieval art, then why not lock down into the River Tarn to cruise as far as St Nicholas de la Grave, 12km of outstanding natural beauty.

Cruising the Baise, you wind your way through 65km of lush and intimate countryside. Discover from the river Gascon fortified towns, gentle hills and flowery meadows, and do some gentle angling along the way. Towns you visit include Vianne, Lavardac and Nerac, seat of the Albret family. Looking out from the Chateau of Henri IV, the quayside with its old workshops converted into restaurants makes a marvellous view. From the quays of Condom were shipped the precious casks of Armagnac down to Bordeaux . See the Abbey of Flaran, a pearl of Cistercian art, before reaching the end of your cruise at Valence-sur-Baise.

The delightful Lot valley makes for an 80km cruise with much to offer. Spectacular scenery combines with medieval villages like Clairac and Castelmoron, with superb half-timbered houses. Casseneuil is a miniature Venice , and you shouldn't miss its church with splendid wall paintings. Villeneuve-sur-Lot and Penne-d'Agenais are good examples of the region's history and traditions.
In spring and towards the end of October there exists a risk of flooding on the rivers Baïse, Lot and Garonne (but not on the “Canal Lateral a la Garonne”).

The risks of flooding exist at spring time as well as at the end of October on the rivers Baïse, Lot and the Garonne, but never on the “lateral canal in the Garonne”. The locks on this canal are semi-automatic and function with traffic lights. They are open every day except on May the 1st. On the Baïse, the locks are automatic and function with magnetic cards, as on the Lot where the lockkeepers are present. On these two rivers the locks are open every day. To join the Lot, you have to cross over the Garonne at the irregular canal (risk of dryness in August). This crossing is performed by a professional pilot and the right-of-way will cost you 17 euro.
