Strumble is a 32' all steel narrowboat built by Doug Moore
who was based in Barnoldswick. She is fully licensed by
British Waterways for hire, and insured for third party
use.
Strumble
has a traditional stern, allowing more usable cabin space. At only 32ft Strumble offers 2 berth accommodation in
a traditional style. She has been fitted out in rosewood
and you will not fail to be amazed at the quality of the
workmanship. She is powered by a BMC 1.5, water cooled
engine so is a quiet boat.
The double bed is wonderfully designed to fold down whilst
still offering a full size double bed rather than the narrower
beds you will find with the longitudinal design. The bed
offers ample space for taller people.
The bathroom has a cassette toilet, sink and wet-room
style shower unit. Hot water is plentiful, being supplied
via a calorifier connected to the engine.
The saloon area has 2 long saddle style seats which means
you can stretch out at the end of a days boating. The forward
cratch is useful for hanging wet gear should you be unfortunate
enough to have a rare day of Yorkshire/Lancashire rain
!
Heating
on Strumble is provided via a multi-fuel stove. Canal
Boat Escapes
will provide full instructions on how
to light this but, generally in the summer months, you
will not need it. Our luxury bedding also means that your
toes won’t be nippy in the night.
She
has been lovingly restored to her original condition
and is available
to hire, offering guests the opportunity
to spend a holiday on the only traditional stern boat for
hire on the Leeds Liverpool Canal. |
